Lynn M Cole - about 22 hours ago

I had just finished watching Max's grandsons wonderful film and tribute to this lovely man "There is many like us." I had decided to google and see where he and Rena were today and found that he had passed on. My warmest regards to beautiful Rena and the rest of the family that carry on the weighty legacy of this amazing man and his story of Love, Courage and Faith in the midst of one of the darkest periods that history has ever known. So many people make us feel hope once again in our plights here on earth and Max and Rena and all the others have shared this so gloriously. Thank all of you. God is with you. Lynn

Dear Louis, Iris and the extended family. Please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of your dad. Max was a very important influence to me in the early years when I first got started in business and he always had some words of wisdom for me and I considered him to be one of the finest men I ever met. Even though our battles were epic, your mom always always made sure we walked away hugging. I will miss him and I am glad I got to see him that day at the Snowdon Deli. May G-d spare you from any further sorrow.

Upon viewing the docu-drama of this incredible man's story I immediately googled his name to read as much as I could. Imagine how stunned I was to learn he'd only very recently passed. My sincerest and deepest condolences to his loved ones. You're truly blessed to have had the privilege of calling such a person dad, grandpa, uncle, husband... His legacy cannot be measured, a man with the kind of character most hope to aspire. My life has been made richer for knowing his story. My prayers are with you all. God bless you and strengthen you in the days ahead.

Dearest Louis, Rena, Fernanda and the rest of your family. At this difficult time, we share in your grief about the loss of your father, husband, father in law and grandfather. It's been many years that we have known our good friends Max and Rena and Louis and Fernanda. We knew Max, through business and charity work and it was always a pleasure to meet and strike a conversation. Max is one of those very special people who survived the horrors of the holocaust and rebuilt his life and family here in Canada. Last year we had the privilege to watch the movie about his life, produced and directed by his grandson and were very touched. Indeed, Max was a special breed and we'll always remember him fondly. May his memory be a blessing to us all. Jacob and Dida and our extended family.

Dear Rena, Louis, Fernanda, Iris, and family, We were profoundly saddened to learn of Max's passing. He held a very special place in our family's life. He was my father Eddy Yagodzinsky's childhood friend with whom he walked to school in Warsaw as young boys. He shared special stories with me from those days about my grandparents and uncles whom he knew, but that I never met. We really got to know and form our own very special relationship when we all traveled together to Warsaw to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising in 1993. Since then any time we would meet, Max would greet us with a beaming smile and warm hug, while he always made sure to inquire about everyone in our family. Each such encounter left us feeling that the day had suddenly been made that much brighter. May you find comfort in your wonderful memories and the knowledge that Max has touched so many lives and left us all with everlasting cherished memories that we will carry in our hearts forever. Fondly Elaine and Mitchell

Dear Fronenberg Family We are deeply saddened. Max was an extraordinary man of "the Greatest Generation". As such he was a role model of courage, defiance in the face of adversity and pride. We established a special bond with him and Rena when we travelled together to Poland. They were a handsome couple, warm, frinedly and who wanted to talk and share their wartime experiences. To see them together was always heartwarming. Whenever we would meet, Max would embrace us warmly. We will always remeber him fondly and with a smile, because he always had one for us. May his memory be for a blessing for all. Warmly, Anna and Aron

Dear Fronenberg Family, You have lost a gem, the last generation of the survivors, the fighters who have kept our people strong and focused. A father can never be replaced, but the deeds that he accomplished to rebuild our people will live forever. As I picture your Dad sitting in shul and speaking with him I see a giant. May his memory be light for all of us.
