In the late 1940's, Elinor worked in my Dad's office in the Jacob's Building - Stuart Dress Co. We bonded and Elinor became the cherished big sister I never had. I adored her for all the qualities outlined on this website by her family and friends. As young marrieds, we all lived on Glenarden in the early 60's. We kept in touch on occasion as long as Elinor remained in Montreal. To her daughter, Cheryl, and family members, I extend my warmest and most heartfelt sympathy. I, too, will mourn Elinor and remember her with warmth and love. Kay Rothman Wolofsky

Your mother was such a special person, my late mothers best friend since their early childhood. Your mother was like an aunt, a second mother to me, an inspiration and someone who was so deservedly respected. I will miss her and she will always be present in my fond memories.

Dear Cheryl, and Goldsmith and Burko families, I'm so saddened to see the end of an era. A unique combination of kindness, generosity, feistiness, strength, and genuine class-- Elinor was such a special lady. We were lucky to have shared our lives with her for so long. Always a gracious hostess, whomever sat at her dining room table was made to feel like a member of the family and was plied with cookies and peanut butter chocolates made with love. Even when she moved away, I made it a point to find her sparkling eyes among the hundreds of congregants at Shaare Zion during Rosh Hashanah, each year. I will miss her terribly and hope that she has been reunited with Paul, Howard, Lou, Stephen, Mary, and others that were dear. My sincerest condolences. Andee Shuster & Family
