I taught with Miriam at Russell School some 50 plus years ago-We were not only colleagues but good friends travelling to and from school together for many years-Miriam was a class act!!She was soft spoken-a meticulous dresser and a superb grade one teacher as well as a very caring friend (bringing me my first gift after my daughter was born)Sadly years drifted by and we lost touch with each other-I was so saddened to read of her passing To Joan and her family my deepest sympathies -May all your good and wonderful memories ease the pain of Miriam's passing Eleanor Diner

Mrs. Miriam Vineberg was my teacher in grade 2 at Hampstead school.I remember her red Corvair, her glamourous Pucci dresses and her afternoon coffee from her beautiful delft mug. I learned what the word incorrigible meant . She was an inspiring teacher .She will be well rememdered.

I learned this morning of Miriam's passing and am profoundly saddened. Miriam and I taught together many years ago and were not only colleagues, but good friends. I quickly recognized that Miriam was unique. Not only was she a wonderful teacher, but someone who was wise and caring. I respected her opinions and adherence to the values of dignity, self respect and hard work. I learned of her generosity to worthwhile causes through others who worked with her. Modesty never permitted her to boast about such gestures. Pride and devotion to family were revealed to me so very often when conversing with Miriam. Her zest for life was always tempered by an unending sadness as a result of losing both husband and children. To you her family, my deepest sympathy. Please know that I shall never forget her.

Dear Family, It is with great sadness that I just read about Miriam's passing. Our two families go back over 60 years- from JPS, Peter being my late father's accountant and my late mother's friendship with Zmirism during the past 2-3 decades. Miriam offered my mother refuge during the ice storm and their shared love of opera, classical music and the arts allowed them to spend much time together. May her memory be a blessing- Yehee zichrah Baruch
