Charlie was a very dear dear friend of my late dad, Raymond and a family friend. I remember him as a devoted, kind soul who always had a warm hug and kind word. Loved seeing him from time to time even after my dad’s passing. My thoughts and sympathies. Bev Miller

I have known Charlie for years. His wife was on my floor at the residence, and then he, himself unfortunately became a resident. I fondly remember Charlie for a much more delicate reason however. My dad and him were neighbours on the cancer unit, in the hospital. I am so glad I had the opportunity to care for Charlie for a few months. You know, knowing that he remembered me and my dad when I did care for him made me extremely happy.. Charlie, I know you and my dad are both looking down on me right now, can you please give my dad a big hug for me? I’d appreciate it so much. Rest In Peace, Charlie. I’ll never forget you.

To add to Murray’s thoughtful words, Charlie had many kind angels looking out for him. From the doctors & staff at the JGH to the network of social services at Eldercare, to Susan Cliff & the staff on the 3rd floor of Maimonides, thank you for your care. And to Irina, an amazingly thoughtful, devoted friend, I know Charlie knew you were watching out for him everyday. To La Vie en Rose🌹

Thank you Charley, for having spent time with us in the lobby of maimonedes hospital. You took such good care for an ailing wife with such devotion, visiting her each and every day, waiting on her, singing with her making sure of all her needs. /we would talk about all the professional figures in the NHL he knew and was friends with such as Scotty Bowman, Larry Robinson, because he would provide the suits they used to purchase and he told us how he became friends with them.Yes he went the extra mile, and they loved him. Devoted is how I would describe Charley. Even after the wife passed, he continued sitting in the lobby with the friends he made, the nurses, the caregivers especially Irene who helped him through the good and bad times. Thank you charley, I feel privilaged getting to know you and sharing time with you. You were a great inspiration to all of us. RIP
