Dear Jonathan, Daniel, David, Michael and families. Our deepest condolences. Although it has been decades since our paths have crossed, your Mother always carried a special place in our heart and in my Parent’s heart for her gentleness, graciousness, warmth, caring and kindness. My parents, Rose and Max, would look forward to spending time with your Mother and Father and which made our shul and related life cycle experiences so much more meaningful and memorable. Your Mother would always greet us with her beautiful smile and her sunny spirit. May her memory bring you comfort in your time of sorrow.

Dear Michael, Jonathan, Daniel and David, As a child growing up in New York City, I had the pleasure of spending several enchanted summers in Ste. Agathe, rolling down the endless green hills with cousins Hinda, Henry and Arthur. Your mother, Freda, together with Fay, acted as surrogate mothers as well as my Uncle Lazar and his wife. Those were the most joyous and memorable times of my childhood, leaving the inner city turmoil of Brooklyn. Your mother, Freda, was a very special lady who will be long remembered in my heart. On behalf of myself and my son, Daniel, please accept our most heartfelt condolences at this most difficult time.

Frima Rosen - 12 days ago

Dear Cousins: This is indeed a very sad time, my heartfelt condolences on your loss. Throughout my life, "Bernie & Freda" were always somewhere on the periphery of the Leffell Family. Whether it was performing our marriage ceremony, naming a baby, a Bar or Bat Mitzvah, eulogizing a family member, Bernie was called upon and your mother Freda was at his side. If I look at my wedding photos and movies, your Dad is sitting with us during the signing and your parents ,Mom young and lovely, are at the head table, your Dad making the brocha over the chalah. Although their communal lives didn't allow time for closeness with the family, we knew they were there if needed. My last connection with your Mom was when she came to my husband Mike's funeral seven and a half years ago, showing great concern and much sympathy for my sudden and untimely loss. I know that your grandfather Jack, his siblings, Aunties Sarah, Leona, Florie, Jessie, Mary and Uncle Louis, all of blessed memory, would be very proud of how you are carrying on the Leffell name, through your children and grandchildren, and for the wonderful care and concern shown for your dear mother in the past years. May her memory serve as a blessing for all and may remembering the good times shared help comfort you during these difficult days. Deepest sympathies, Cousin Frimmie

My father is currently at a rehab center for a recent fall and sends his deepest sympathies as well. May her memory be a blessing. Sending love from all of the Shuchats.
