I got to know Hedy at a wise aging class at the synagogue. We talked about personal feelings. She was kind and thoughtful and generous. My deepest condolences.

I am deeply saddened by this huge loss to our shul community and to all who knew Hedy. She was a humble woman yet leaves a huge legacy and she will be truly missed.

I am a retired United Church minister, but also a resident in Ste Anne des Lacs, QC where we have a small, but very active, ecumenical church which is attended each summer Sunday, Thanksgiving Sunday, and Christmas Eve. Hedy had been our musical mainstay for 15 years until she retired from playing last year "due to her arthritis". It was sad to see this happen but we feted her, and understood we would have to move on and find our musician elsewhere. Hedy has been sorely missed. As the choir director for that church during most of the years of Hedy's service with us, I have had many long conversations with her, worked with her, been in her lovely home, and she in mine. I can hardly believe she is no longer with us, and she will be sorely missed. Rest in musical bliss, Hedy -- and I'll expect you to be wowingly correcting the angels in their musical timing forever and a day.

I would like to convey my deepest sympathies to Hedy’s family. I was so sad to hear about her passing. She was a gentle soul. I have known her since I was a child when my family would visit Hedy and Hy and spend many Sunday afternoons eating, laughing and telling jokes. It was a great honour for us when Hedy agreed to play the organ at our wedding. Hedy holds a special place in my heart. Rest In Peace.

Hedy was a fellow congregant at Dorshei Emet. It was admirable that she made the effort to travel to Shul from St. Sauveur almost every Shabbat. When we moved to the Laurentians we reconnected and spent some lovely times together. Hedy was a remarkable person, elegant, warm and kind, Sadly we lost contact when we left for Toronto. I am so sorry to learn of her death. I send my deepest condolences to her family.

If memory serves, when Beth and I first joined Dorshei Emet, Hedy was the first woman Torah reader we saw and we were impressed. Now that we are readers ourselves we understand how amazing she was, reading entire parshiot flawlessly without looking at a a backup sheet. Our sincere condolences to her family and friends. May she read forever on G-d's Great Bima .

We will miss Hedy so much. Richard was a good friend of Hy for many years and he was happy to see that Hedy and Hy found each other. We lived in Ste-Adele for 10 years and saw Hedy often. Her dinners were incredible. We moved to Vancouver in 2000. Hedy visited us and we kept in touch on a regular basis. We will remember the many hours we spent together at our house, her house or just walking in the woods. She was a gem. Rest in peace our dear Hedy.

I am deeply shocked and saddened to learn of Hedy's passing. Intelligent, articulate, soft-spoken, giving and kind, she was the epitome of grace and resilience. Her passing is a terribly loss, not only to those who knew and loved her most, but also to all those whose lives she touched.

I will always remember Hedy as a beautiful and gracious person outside and inside, her smile and her wonderful voice when she chanted the Torah. At Dorshei Emet, we were privileged that she was one of ours. It is difficult to believe she won’t be with us anymore. My deepest condolences to her family and friends. May her memory be a blessing to all who loved her.

Dear Family, I was so saddened to hear of Hedy's passing. We worked together many years ago at Federation, she as a volunteer. She was a gracious, kind, gentle woman with great wit, and an ability to make everyone feel good about themselves. Hedy and Hy were a terrific couple, devoted to one another until Hy's untimely passing. Hedy and I only bumped into each other perhaps twice in the intervening years, but I thought of her often, always with a smile, and I'm remembrance of the good days when we worked together. She will be missed. Rachel

Dear family, Hedy was the greatest teacher of gracious giving and doing for others. Can picture Hedy handing out muffins as we walked out the door at the end of Yom Kippur. It was her greatest pleasure to bake and hand them out to the entire congregation. Linda & Joe Kislowicz
