To the Blumer Family: Our sincerest condolences on Bernie's passing. Although Allen originally knew him from the Montreal ski community, I didn't get to know him until he visited my dad, Eddy Cohen, in Scottsdale. He was a fine gentleman - polite, kind, and unassuming. My son, Matthew, who once took him golfing, said that Bernie couldn't stop thanking him. He was so appreciative. We all have an expiry date. What a blessing that Bernie's gave him almost a century of life.

Dear Janet and Blumer family, my deep condolences to all of you on the loss of such a wonderful man. I will always remember Bernie as a true gentleman, an exceptional person. I remember first meeting him on the ski hill at ‘Gabriel’. I always enjoyed seeing him and hearing him talk (in his beautiful resonant voice) about all his life experiences. I learned of his illness about a week ago from a visit to the Bnai Brith House, after being unable to reach him by phone. Over the years, he was a true and respected friend of both of my parents. We will all miss him.

Don & Nancy Rubin - 10 days ago

Dear Blumer family, We have just returned from vacation and learned the very sad news of Bernie's passing. Please accept our heartfelt condolences. I first met Bernie when I took on a Supervisor position in Laurentian Day Ski School. He was a very special man, warm, friendly, interested, so highly regarded...a real gentleman whom I grew very fond of over the years. We would have these very philosophical deep "technical" discussions covering all aspects of ski technique. I certainly learned a great deal from his experience and expertise. I was very grateful to Bernie & to his partner George Rothbart for allowing me the privilege of continuing the ski school and to try to maintain the very high standards that Bernie and George had established as industry leaders during their years directing the organization. And what a treat it was years later to meet up with Bernie again while serving lunches as a B'nai Brith House volunteer. I t allowed us both to go back in time and relive the many happy years we spent skiing and teaching the ski school kids together. May your memories of loving and fun times spent with this unique man ease the pain and bring you comfort during this very difficult period. He will be missed! Fondly, Don & Nancy
