Dear Family, I am deeply sad to learn of the passing away of Sara. Although we have not been in touch for many years I will always remember her as a beautiful and dynamic woman and dedicated to making the world a better place. Her love of Israel and her family were always there. We worked together in the 80's on various cultural initiatives in Montreal to bring Israeli artistic performance and she was always leading the way to making these events very special for the community. May she rest in peace knowing her inspiration with live on in our hearts and memories. David

Dear Gene and family, Eric and I feel great sadness hearing of Sara’ s passing. Living in Prague makes the absence of our Montreal friends feel more acute at times like these. Sara was a radiant human being - radiant with beauty, intelligence, sense of humour and a genuine interest in others. When we last saw her two years ago, at the symposium celebrating the events of Expo 67, she shone recalling her own experience of the time long gone, but still vividly present. We will remember her the same way.

Ella and Oded Gera - 8 days ago

Dear Gene and family we only heard yesterday that Sara passed away and we are so very sad. The Jewish telegraph to Israel was a little slow this time. Sara was a dear friend of Oded’s Mother, Meira, and we benefitted from this as Sara took us into her large heart. She lovingly took us to tour around “her” Montreal when we visited, and when our son Raphael got married in Montreal she and Gene hosted a beautiful and memorable dinner for our family and friends. Sara was beautiful inside and out, kind, gracious, joyful and a wonderful friend to Meira, and also to us. We send you our deepest condolences. With love Ella and Oded

Dear Gene et al, Sara lit up a room and cast her brightness far and wide. From Israel to Vancouver she was appreciated as an elegant beauty and a woman of conviction. Her friendship was respected and valued . We will deeply miss her. Please know that we wish you all strength at this most difficult time. Jewel and Paul

Lily Tzohar - 9 days ago

Dear Family, It is with much sorrow that I received the sad news. My deepest condolences to the family. May her soul rest in peace. My name is Lily Tzohar and I was one of the 13 hostesses at the Israeli Pavilion at Expo 67. I regret that so many years passed without having being in contact. However, long ago, at Expo 67 we did share an appartment and for six months three of us - Nurit, Sara and myself were a bit like sisters. We enjoyed that period to the fullest and I retain wonderful memories from that bit of time. Wonderful and unforgettable. Along with my condolences, I wanted you to know that I will cherish her memory forever.
