While I hardly knew Jewel, I do remember how attractive she was! From "Aunt Ethel", my mother's best friend, I learned a bit about her progeny and found the names in the obituary vaguely familiar. To all of you, I wish long life, filled with good health, and comforting memories, particularly during this sad time, and beyond

Michael, Vivian, Neil and Rachel, (I'm sure Lori just forgot), I am truly sad for the passing of your Mom and my Aunt Jewel. I can't say how many memories thinking of her brings back. The summer she put up with me at 16 Island Lake, the day I put a red shirt into the laundry while I was staying at your house and all of your Dad's shirts came out pink!!! - and she held her temper down!!! The list is endless. Remember the good times, and there were a whole lot of them. She was a great lady and we will all miss her!

Deepest condolences to the entire family. I remember Jewel as the daughter of my late grandmother, Edith Schwartz’s dearest friend, whom I lovingly called “Aunt Ethel”. May you all be comforted by the love of family and friends, and may Jewel’s memory be for a blessing.

A Jewel has indeed left our family. My kvaterin (godmother) was an elegant and special lady and friend. I knew her for over seventy years - on Randall, next to the chicken farm; in Fourteen Island Lake, where she absolutely made me take my socks off at night, no matter how cold it was; in several places in Westmount... in fact one of the last times I saw her, Auntie Jewel and Uncle Lew were walking away from Miriam and me, down the long corridor in their seniors' residence, toward the dining room, he with his walking stick and she with her arm through his. May your memories always be at least as pleasant as my own. HaShem yinachem - may G-d comfort. ... Harvey
