Dear Stern family, we didn't know Marc personally, but he knew my late father Raphael very well and would drive him to Shul every Sunday. Our condolences go out to you and know that Ray talked about him often and enjoyed their morning drives.

Dear Suzie, I worked with Marc in the CA program at Concordia many years ago. He was really interesting to talk to and was respected by his students. After he left, our paths would cross from time to time and we would catch up. Although it's been many years since then, I can still remember his smile when he spoke of you and his happy life. So it is with great sadness that I read in the paper this morning about your loss. Please accept my sincere condolences.

Marc will be truly missed. Such a clever and interesting fellow. We had wonderful discussions over the many years that we were friends and often discussed the book he was writing. Those who know him, will know that he was the second most interesting man in the World.

Dear Susie, I knew Marc was very ill, but I was convinced he would persevere. He was a fighter. He always managed to overcome every obstacle put in his path. He was someone who believed in doing what was right. A brilliant man who spoke many languages and had a big personality. I am saddened that he never finished his book. I hope the wonderful memories of all your years together will help you through this very difficult time. May he rest in peace my "Greek cousin."

To the Stern Family, I am absolutely shocked to learn of Marc's passing. I must admit that I was one of his major e-mail suppliers with all kinds of jokes, tricks and happenings in Israel. Even this morning and not knowing his condition I sent him a couple of funny ones. I met Marc many years ago when he played basketball for Price Waterhouse. I would often see him in shul on Sunday mornings and exchange yet more jokes and happenings. Marc was a very knowledgeable person and a very fine academic. He always prided himself for coming from the Bronx. His wisdom and conversations will be dearly missed. Marc, it was great to know you.
