Dear Family..Extending my deepest sympathy to the family of Ruth, a very elegant, strongwilled and kind lady who I miss seeing and playing against at the bridge club..I remember well the first day she returned to the club, after having had hip surgery, when against the judgement of many welcoming friends , she still insisted on removing her winter boots and walking in with high heel shoes..What a woman!!!Fondly Ethel Singer

To Ruth's family I send my deepest sympathy for your loss... and I also send my highest praise for "my hero"... I always told Ruth I wanted to be just like her when I grew up... she was the epitome of elegance even in her older age... the last time she played at the Shaar, before moving to Toronto, Ruth brought her partner (Lillian Gold) lunch and then sat down with her own lunch... she was absolutely remarkable in every way... What an example she has set for her progeny... r.i.p. dear Ruth...

She had said she was moving to Toronto, to be with her family, and I must say she was missed here. Wishing you all a long life, and know you have many pleasant memories stored up. Beverley Hamburg
