We offer our sympathy to the Sourkes family on the passing of Rose. She and her later husband Joel were very good friends of our parents Miriam and Lawrence (Sonny) Popliger. They spent many an evening playing bridge. Rose's card acumen was always near the top ! 100 years is a great achievement. BDE

To Cheryl, and all of Roses's loved ones, I offer my heartfelt sympathies on your loss! She lived a very full life, was sharp as a tack, and often kept us entertained and informed, on the many occasions when we sat around my mom's dining room table, having dinner, or tea with the "girls"! I know that the last couple of years became more challenging for Rose, and feel grateful that her passing was peaceful! May she R.I.P.💜P.S. What a lovely photo, taken at her 100th birthday party....and she's even wearing my mom's pink scarf!!!💗

Dear Sourkis Family. P;ease accept our condolences upon Roses's passing. My first encounter with your family goes back to Jeanne Mance. My memories go back to the early 1950s when we were neighbors living on the same side of the streetjust doors down the block where I grew up. My close dear friend David Muhlstock (Across the street) remembers playing with Cheryl when we were all kids. I lost touch with your family but had the good fortune to reconnect when we moved into LeVicomte in 2001. During the initial years I sought out the help and advice from both Joel and Rose which they happily shared with me. Rose was a capable and very smart lady. I always enjoyed bumping into her in the building be it in the lobby or on her way past my front door with her walker ready to play bridge at Selda's. She was a fine lady, a good friend to many and she will be missed. May she rest in peace. Martin and Judy Surkis

Dear Cheryl, From our childhood together on Jeanne Mance, my sincerest condolences on the death of your mother, Rose. I remember her vividly as beautiful, happy, intelligent, and with a mischievous sense of humour. We lost touch a lifetime ago, but some things are never forgotten. When my twin brother Ernest died three years ago, I was profoundly touched but not surprised, to get a warm note of condolence from your mother. Love to you from all the way back.
