Dear Rabbi Eligberg and Family, We were very sorry to learn that you have lost your wonderful Mother and Grandmother. Perhaps you can almost sense the hundreds of people who care about you and who would be with you in person were it possible. Your Mother gave so much of herself to many causes. She gave you to us, and we are grateful. After reading all about the amazing, giving woman she was, it explains some of why you are such a giving, caring person. We are among the many who are feeling for you. Marcia and Richard Schaefer Temple Israel Albany, NY

Leona and I would drive to choir each week and sometimes we were so busy sharing stories, family news, and ideas and philosophies about teaching that we always stayed in the car a little longer than we needed. We also shared a love for "sisterhood" at Beth David and I would look forward to seeing her every Shabbat. She was a woman I admired immensely, and a woman who was so proud of all of her family. Her warm and welcoming nature helped her build friendships all around the globe, young and not so young, and I am honoured to have considered her my friend. Leona will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Wishing all Leona's family and friends much strength as they mourn the loss of this very special Eyshet Chayil.

Leona leaves a big hole in our Chaverut group. There was not one job that was too hard for her to manage. She always knew the correct direction we should go. She will be sadly missed by myself and our group.

What a flood of memories surfaced when I read Leona's obit. We were young married with small children yet we managed to be very active in Mount Sinai Chaper B'nai Brith Women. I remember the trips with the dolls etc for the Festival Tables. I still have the album she made for me after my term of office was over. A tradition she started which continued for many years. A also remember a camping trip she joined our family on to Messena N.Y. She was a very vibrant women who was very passionate about what she got involved in. Please accept my sincerest expression of sympathy on her loss. BDE
