Sandy will be remembered as an outstanding volunteer at the JGH, selling books at the CDN entrance and Remembrance Day Poppies at the main entrance. She attended our annual JGH Remembrance Day ceremonies in full Canadian Legion Branch 97 uniform. She would bake cookies and personally deliver them to our Communications team. We adored her no-nonsense good spirit attitude and her sense of humour. She was a smiling feature on my way in to work and I will miss her. Here's a story we wrote about her in JGH News: https://jghnews.ciussswestcentral.ca/distributing-poppies-and-smiles-for-remembrance-day/ as well as a Facebook post with a photo I took of her in action: https://www.facebook.com/CIUSSSCentreOuest/posts/sandy-bernstein-93-has-been-selling-poppies-in-the-main-lobby-of-the-jgh-for-mor/2399444360071165/ RIP Sandy. A wonderful, generous and caring lady.
