Shirley (Antecol) Wasser - 4 days ago

Dear Harry, Linda, Wendy and your families. I want to offer my sincere condolences on your great loss. Saul was a proud father and grandfather to all of you, and he loved to tell me and others many stories about you. I remember Saul as an astute and successful businessman. He was also a wonderful volunteer. My late husband Nathan and I were so proud of how he carried the Canadian flag on behalf of all our veterans every year on Rememberance Day. He was a also generous volunteer for Meals on Wheels - and was proud to include his grandaughter Erica on his rounds. Most recently, Saul's big smiles everyday here at the Waldorf dining room brightened up my dinnertimes. We will all miss him very much.

Dear Antecol Family, My sincere condolences to you on the loss of such a fine person. As a volunteer for the Meals on Wheels program, I was honored to be his "runner". When I was first told that he would be my driver, I was a bit skeptical, but was I wrong! He was very alert, very capable, and did he ever have stories, which he backed up with videos and pictures, some of them with his family. I told my uncle who was also in the Service at the same time, that my "driver" had a Dry Goods store in Verdun. My uncle then told me that both he and my grandfather were customers of Mr. Antecol and his father, "the nicest, kindness, and most honest people in the business". I told Mr. Antecol, and he had only nice things to say about my relatives. A small world!!We lost a true "Mentch" in his passing. May his memory be for a blessing. May his Soul be bound up in the bonds of Eternal Life.

He was always very genial, and had a wonderful sense of humour. Please accept my sincere condolences, and may your memories keep you, and comfort you, during these days of sadness. I join my mother Jennie and my brother Joel in extending our sympathies for your loss. Jennie was truly heartbroken on learning the sad news. She and occasionally I would chat with him in the Waldorf dining room at dinner time until shortly before the Covid-19 lockdown began. It was wonderful to see Solly at Jennie's birthday party last November, smiling and enjoying the company of extended family. He was a lovely human being and will be missed. May your memories comfort you through your grief.

Dear Linda, Harry, Wendy and families, So many happy memories of a special man who embraced life with gusto and a generous spirit. Solly was a dear friend to Helen's father as they shared weekly dinners, helped out Meals On Wheels and drove around town; always with a "story" or corny joke. He will be deeply missed by many. Our condolences.

Miki Lane and Marilynne Malkin - 12 days ago

Dear Antecol family, Marilynne and I send our heartfelt condolences to all of you on the passing of Solly. He was a remarkable man who brightened up the lives of all who came to know him. I worked on Meals on Wheels with him after his long time partner Lionel Malkin couldn't continue. He and Lionel were great friends over the years and I think they still hold the record for collecting Poppy contributions for the Veterans. We had many lunches together over the years and he was always so proud of all of his family. He will be greatly missed. His memory will always be a blessing.

Dear Solly’s Family I first met Solly when I started at Meals on Wheels I was immediately in awe of him , his energy , his devotion and love for his family and friends , his commitment to his volunteering and his love of people . He was a volunteer packer, driver and deliverer not to be daunted by weather or any situation . He was known to do extra for the recipients , be it bringing kosher pizzas and baked goods , to the most important , talking to them , as often the Meals on Wheels deliverer was the only person that they saw all day . He loved his family and his grandkids, he was very happy when they came with him to volunteer. We all loved his stories about them . Solly was a very special Man and he will be missed. Condolences to the family. May his memory be a blessing May you be spared further sorrow.

I had some dealings with Solly about ten years ago. He was absolutely amazing and he assisted in a most positive way, really changing the lives for several people. We enjoyed nearly a full bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue to celebrate and it became our running joke whenever we crossed paths over the years. RIP Solly. You were one great guy.
