Steve Cartman - 16 days ago

Dear Debbie, my deepest condolences. When I heard that Marty was not well, I wished him luck for a quick recovery so that he could join our gang for another ski season. Unfortunately, that was not to be. We will miss him. Marty would make our chairlift rides enjoyable by offering a funny story or a quick joke. And afterwards we would grab a lunch time special at Mr. Sings House of Schezuan. Spring skiing meant some quick runs in the morning, then sitting around in the afternoon, people watching and drinking beer (although Marty was alcohol free this last year). Marty was so much fun to hang out with and he will be truly missed. Steve

Dear Debby, Beth, Kim, and the entire family. I am so sorry for your loss. I was lucky enough to have a glimpse of what it was like to have Marty's care and attention when Beth and I spent many days living with him & Debby in St Agathe. He taught us to make a good Martini, to snowmobile in winter and barefoot water ski in summer (he was so patient and I was not a natural). They always had a bed for me, a chair at the table and open arms. I couldn't resist the love & warmth of that home which I now feel equally at Beth and Scott's in Florida. His best traits live on in his daughters and grandchildren. His memory is one to hold dear. Much love, Laurie & The Morgan Family

Dear Debbie, and Family. How terribly sad it is to hear of Marty's passing, he was the friendliest of guys, and would always be there if someone needed help of any kind. He was very supportive of the House of Israel and helped you so much in the great work you do for our Synagogue. He was one of the rare people who got to live his dream life, right next to a ski hill. He went much too fast, and that hurts, but Marty never did things slowly. Hopefully all the great memories you have will help you at this most difficult time. Bernie and RoseLee.

Marty and I skied together, traveling on ski trips together, rooming together on those trips .We always traded reflections on how fortunate we were too love and be loved by the people in our lives ,who made our lives worth living. Marty was always fun, always gung ho about the next trip, the next run,the next nights dinner, and of course the next drink. Our world will be a little less fun,a little more melancholy, because of his loss. Richard Azeff

Dear Debbie, Beth, and Kim, I am so sorry to hear this news. Marty treated me as the son he never had. He was always larger than life to me. He saved me one summer night when i was futzing around on the boat and my kill switch caused the boat to stall. Marty came to rescue me. When Kim and I would walk into town on Saturday at 7 am to get comics and candy, he was always there to get us when we were too lazy to walk home. There are hundreds of stories I can tell, and they all have the same punch line. Marty was always there. I am very grateful that my family and I were able to spend so much with him and his family. May your memories, keep you strong during this tough time. Love Jamie

Shelley & Howard Diamond - 17 days ago

Dear Debby and Leboff family. Shelley and I are so saddened with this terrible news. Marty provided guidance and insight to me during the times I needed it. One of my first recollections of meeting Marty was many years ago, when he sat behind me in Shul and I turned around to say hi. As he was looking at the Siddur, I told him how well I remembered him from West Hill High School. He continued looking at the Siddur, with no reply. Months later, even years later, same thing, He always sat behind me and again I told him how well I remembered him from West Hill, and again no comment from him. Until one day, again, I said it to him, how well I remembered him from high school,  but this time, looking down at the Siddur, and not looking at me, he said "I never went to West Hill". Embarrassed I was! Shelley and I send our deepest condolences and hope the wonderful memories you have sustain you through these sad times.
