Dear Ivan, Eta, and family, Though it's been so many years, I have wonderful memories from our time as next-door neighbors, from Dark Shadows with Eta to soccer baseball with Ivan and Lorne. I was sad to hear of Benny's passing and may your family see no more sorrow. BDE.

My deepest condolences on the loss of your father, life sometimes does things in strange ways, but they way when they take a wonderful ma n away from his family, it is because G-d needs him for something else. (been telling myself the same thing for 12 years and at times it helps. Just everyone stay safe during this terrible time. B'H"

My sincerest condolences to the family. Way back when...... I was part of the breakfast group. Benny always kept us laughing. His stories were fantastic. I also spent time with him and another group at the O.T.B. playing the ponies. Benny taught us one thing., that you don't have to be a genius picking a winner. He said "when you park your car... look at the odometer's last four numbers and wheel them in a trifecta ..... you'll be a guaranteed winner". WoW!!! He was often right! He will be missed. May only the good memories sustain through this difficult time. Be well and stay safe. MORT B.

Benny was someone that always had a story to tell. There were the stories that made you think and the one’s that you couldn’t stop laughing. And sometimes you could hear the same story over, over again, but with an extended version. As I recall the many “breakfast meetings” over the years whether at Chenoys, Stans, or Fat Maxis, Benny’s words would often take you back to the past as he reminisced about all the characters that he encountered over the years. If I could picture Benny in heaven, I like to think that he is now with the boys, having a cigar and playing cards. Be not sad that he passed on, but celebrate because he was here. Our deepest sympathies to Benny’s wife and children – we mourn with you. Louis & Howard Gontovnick
