To Family & Friends of Mortimer I tried to speak with Mortimer, while he was in the hospital, and he conveyed his one wish, to return to his home in B'Nai Brith! So sadly, he didn't come back! He was actively involved in volunteering his time serving lunches, having weekly fun with residents at "Tuesdays with Mortimer". He was a great conversationalist, enjoyed history books, was generous of spirit, great sense of humor... a kind soul who enjoyed the many friends he made at B'Nai Brith. He will be deeply missed by all his friends. Please was accept my deepest condolences for your very sad loss. May all our cherished memories of Mortimer bring us comfort today & always. Rest in Peace Mortimer! I would like to mention that Kudos be given to Yola & Nettie for their devoted care & kindness extended to Mortimer while he was still at home.

BUNNY ARICK/PITZELE - 25 days ago

THIS MORNING, WHILE READING THE OBITS OVER BREAKFAST, I REALIZED I NOTICED THE FAMILIAR NAME OF "MORTIMER' AS I KNEW THIS GENTLEMAN TO BE!! GETTING OVER THE SHOCK, I IMMEDIATELY SENT MY SINCERE CONDOLENCES TO THE ENTIRE FAMILY! MORTIMER LIVED IN THE SAME B'NAI BRITH HOUSE AS I. I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER INTERESTING STORIES, HIS JOYFUL WAY IN VOLENTARING TO SERVE LUNCH WHEN THE KITCHEN WAS SHORT STAFFED, AND HAPPILY OFFERING HELP FOR ANYONE! AT THIS SAD TIME, MAY I OFFER MY SINCERE SYMPATHIES ON THE LOSS OF THE 'GENTALMAN ''MORTIMER GARELIC. MAY HIS STORIES LIVE ON. SINCERKLY, BUNNY ARICK (pitzele)

To Mortimer’s Family....when we’re permitted to volunteer again at B’nai Brith House, once the pandemic allows us to, it won’t be the same without Mortimer. (He let us know, good-humouredly, that he preferred to be called Mortimer, not MORTY). He was really special and filled the dining room with his presence, always kibitzing....always polite. Everyone was his friend. Our deep condolences to his loved ones for your loss. Rest In Peace Mortimer. Goldie Libman and Syd Spilberg

Dear Family, We haven't seen Mortimer in a long time, but he was the very best friend to our late dad, Morty Sazant. He was full of life and always made sure our dad was ok. My dad loved to include him with us at holiday time and always made sure he was never alone. Those two were fric and frac , loved spending time together. Now they can reunite and continue all their political conversations. With love and deepest sympathy, Morty's children, Ellen Tock, Earl and Lawrence Sazant and families"
