Mona and myself would like to offer our thanks to all Rachelle's friends for their heartfelt condolences. Although we all made our lives in different cities, we were close and in recent years spent much time together in California and New Jersey. We have suffered a loss of a dear sister and a good friend but she will continue to be remembered through our love and her good deeds.

My sincere condoleances to Rachelle's family. Rachelle was my Mom's next door neighbour at 5350 MacDonald for many years. When my mother became ill, Rachelle was so very kind and helpful, frequently offering to pick up groceries, to share some food she had prepared, to stop by and visit. I enjoyed many wonderful chats and visits with Rachelle and was glad when my husband Doug could help her with some computer difficulties since she was always so generous with her time to help others. May she rest in peace.

To Neil and Monique: Very, very sorry to just learn of this sad news. Condolences from Karen and myself. Neil - your mother was kind and hospitable when you had friends over at your place, and she always took an interest in what I was up to and in how my own mother was doing. I have many fond memories of your mom, and always enjoyed sharing a knowing smile, or chuckle (or a slow shake of the head) with her regarding Neil's active and intriguing goings-on.

Our family connection to Rachelle goes back to the early fifties when she was a young girl growing up in Hong Kong. She ultimately married Joe, from there also. As a young widow, she was always active in Montreal giving her time and efforts on behalf of the Jewish Community. Intelligent and warm, she had a very pleasant disposition and was supportive to so many people and causes.

A very kind, loving and educated lady who will be deeply missed. My sincerest condolences go to Neil and Monique. She was a very close friend of the family, since the 1960's. My mother used to play Bridge with Rachel and her husband, Joseph, and frequently went on outings with them on the weekends with my father. Rachel worked hard at the Jewish General for many years and served diligently as President of the Women's Auxiliary. She was very dedicated and I can still remember the very enlightening commentaries of concern for the hospital she used to write in the newsletter.
