Dear Issie and Malca, David and Janet, Heather and Tony and extended families, Robert and I are so sorry for your loss. I have such warm memories of Jeanette from my childhood years especially, from feeling so welcome in my many childhood visits to your home, from our camping years, from "the club" with my mom and so many other special women. I remember her and your dad as very close friends of my mom and my dad, and I know that my parents were devastated to learn of her sudden passing. I remember her for her warmth, intelligence, sense of humour, and how she delighted in you, her family. I remember her as kind and loving and never talking down to us kids. I wish you comfort in knowing how so many others were touched by Jeanette, by her smile, and by the person she was. And I wish you comfort in your many treasured memories of her. Thinking of you all, Shari (Cooper) Friedman

J & J Cooper - 21 days ago

Dear Gilman extended family, We were devastated by the sad news of Jeanette’s passing! We shared our lives with your parents for over 70 years! They were usher and bridesmaid at our wedding. From Habonim thru all stages of family life, to the ”club” and camping, to being neighbours on Dutrisac to sharing good times in Florida – our lives were intertwined. As I sit writing this, I am facing a picture on the wall in front of me where we celebrated together our 35th anniversary. When I turn behind me there is the one when we five ladies turned 80! We grieve with you and offer you all our most sincere condolences. Jocelyn and Jerry

Gary Samuel Besner - 21 days ago

Dear David & Heather, My mother told me this morning about your mom passing away and I just wanted to reach out with my deepest sympathies. We haven't seen each other in many, many years but I still hold all the memories from our childhood and camping days close to my heart. I remember both your mom and your dad vividly (and your house in Chomedey), and like so many of my parents friends, I remember them always smiling, kibitzing and laughing (except when we would act up LOL). Your mother was the kindest and warmest of ladies, and always treated Joel, Jamie and I with love and genuine care. The funniest thing happened to me the other day...I was in the bathroom brushing my teeth and squeezing out the last bit of toothpaste from the tube, and your dad popped into my mind and how you guys had this neat little metal "twister" on your toothpaste - I remember seeing it when David tutored me in Math and I had to use the bathroom...my point being, that I believe that when our loved ones move on that they are always around watching over us even though w e can't always see them (kind of like in our blind spot when we are driving ), and that your dad knew that your mom (whom I am sure he's been waiting for) would be joining him soon, and wanted me to give you guys the message that they are both amazing and finally together again, and that they love you both and miss you both very much; and most importantly that they are always around you, and always in your hearts & souls. Thank you David & Heather for being such awesome friends, and all my best and sincerest condolences. Love, Gary

Bernard and Shirley Herman - 22 days ago

It's hard to believe we last spoke with Jeanette on Wednesday and that now she has left us. "A mensch tract un got lacht". During her life she worked at many different jobs, and took great pride in this. Recently, she kept busy doing volunteer work and knitting afghans for seniors. When Shirley gave her some leftover wool from her knitting, we marveled at how Jeanette managed to brilliantly incorporate these bits and pieces into her own works. She was very special, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.  Bernard (Bucket) and Shirley Herman

Lana Segal-Moore - 22 days ago

My heartfelt condolences to the family, I am so shock by her passing. We just spoke last week. We worked together at Na'amat Montreal for over 5 years. In the first year at Na'amat I remember sitting next to her while she taught me how to work with the database. Then over the next four years she would come in like clockwork to the office to do her job. She was kind, sweet, funny and so considerate. I will miss her smiling face very much. She was such a special person.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Jeanette's passing. My condolences to the entire family. I will remember all the good times our families had together camping. At one point in my life I wasn't sure what I wanted to do and your Mom got me a job at the accounting office she worked in at the Maritime Hotel. When my daughter was born she knitted a sweater for her which still hangs in her closet. I am so happy to always have a piece of your Mom with us. She was a treasured friend of my mother's and and all the ladies in the club. She will be missed by everyone. May all the wonderful memories you have help you through this difficult time. Sincerely, Susan
