Dear Jo, Ricky, Bobby, Michael and families, I was so sorry to hear of Abe's passing. It's been a while since we last saw each other, but Abe is vivid in my memories. He was so unfailingly warm and positive with his big smile and bluest eyes. Now that I'm older, I realize how rare his good nature was, and a gift to those around him. "Jo-and-Abe" you were a big presence in my life in my teens and twenties, I have many warm memories of you both. My deepest sympathies to you all at this sad time. With love, Robin Solomon

Our sincere sympathy to Jo and family, in the loss of a truly kind, loving and supportive husband and father. Our years as Canadian Snowbirds in Florida were enriched by our association with Abe and Jo, from first meeting Jo, and her chauffeur Abe, at Kate's watercolour classes, to Sunday brunches, John's impromptu visits while out cycling, the huge jade plant which graces our Florida home entrance, to our final good byes while assisting with the Florida yard sale. Jo efficiently orgsnized, while Abe sat by the door welcoming and visiting with all who entered. Thanks for being in our lives, Canmore friends, Heather and John

Dear Auntie Jo, Rick, Bobby, Mikie, and families, The pain of Uncle Abe's passing has left us all in shock! It won't be the same around the table for Passover seders, without his keen sense of wit, mesmerizing stories and jokes. Where have all the years gone in what seems to be a moment in time. We have such fond memories growing up in the country with all of you . Those special weekends spent together in summers past at Barbara and Moe's country house . Uncle Abe always brought the most amazing food, we would all go home 5 pounds heavier! Even though we have all dispersed around various parts of the world, these memories are very fond to our family and will never be forgotten. Uncle Abe lit up the room with his presence , his magical smile and the twinkle in his big blue eyes! You had a wonderful loving husband and father, a treasure, and a man to emulate. There are no words to express our genuine pain we feel for all of you. He was taken too soon from all of us. May his zest for life and reverence for his family sustain you through this unbearable time. " He who is remembered never dies." We will always remember Uncle Abe and celebrate the remarkable man he was, and how he touched all our lies! Sincerely, Lena , Bruce, Ryan, Brittney, Evan, Elodie, Arianna, Sammy, Ledger and Piper.

First met Abe when we were both in high school playing basketball for our respective schools. always friendly and warm. A few years later when we were in B'nai Brith doing voluntary work. We would take the children from the Mackay center to a pool and teach them how to swim. Abe would supply the refreshments after. That was over 50 years ago and I still remember him because he left a deep impression on anyone who he met. A rare breed, sincere and giving. He will be greatly missed.

Seeing Abe’s huge smile, brings back so many wonderful memories of the close friendship our family had when I was a kid. Of course, Jo and Abe were my parents “much” younger friends, which kept my parents always young at heart. Please accept my condolences to the entire Katz family on the loss of such a warm and friendly man.

Dear Josée and family. My sincere condolences on the passing of a man I knew first as that man from Coca Cola...and later as Josee’s escort, a guy with a sense of humour and always with a smile on his face. I know he was a devoted husband and he will be missed. May the Lord Comfort You among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem and may you know no further sorrow.
