Debbie, Melissa, Sandy and family, Uncle Duffy here. My heart goes out to you all and I'm very sad as well. As Steve's brother in law, I was blessed that such good guy arrived into my family. I really enjoyed our time together in Italy years ago, and I'm happy to report that Steve soundly beat me in our last game of cribbage that night. We had fun, wresting with that bottle of wine, so that's the image I'll always have of Steve. Take care of yourselves.

My sincerest condolences to your family. I first met Dr. Baylin as a patient in Calgary and distinctly remember his amazing ability to care for children. As I grew older he provided some of the wisest career advice I ever had, and still remember the pride he had when I announced I would attend dentistry at McGill. There's a special place in heaven reserved for men like Dr. Baylin.

I am shocked to hear of Dr Baylin’s passing. I was his patient until I was 21, even though I wasn’t supposed to be after the age of 18. “You know Trish, you’re a little old to be here now” but he still fixed my teeth and 20 years later they’re as good as new. He was so kind and funny, he made going to the dentist a fun experience for a scared little girl. I ran in to him just a couple years ago and we had a great catch up, he immediately recognized me and that was amazing to me. I will always remember my friends wanting to trick or treat in our neighborhood because we would go to “the dentists” house and get mini toothbrushes and toothpaste. I will carry those memories with me forever. My deepest condolences go out to his family and friends.

Debbie, I am so sad to hear of Steve’s passing. He has and always will hold a special place in my heart. He was the first dentist that I worked for and I was his first CDA. I have so many great memories of those days. Although it was years since I last saw him in person, I am so glad that we stayed connected and I could follow his photography. I remember skiing with him and I know he loved the mountains and I felt you both everywhere on my trip to Canmore a few months ago. The love you had for one another was inspirational. I remember “Love and double 6’s. “. Please accept and give my deepest condolences to all of his family. He truly was a wonderful person. Love, Rhonda Donda, (as he used to call me)
Robbie Babins-Wagner - 9 days ago
Dear Debbie, Melissa & Sandy, We want to let you know how sorry we are that Steve has passed so early. He was always the brightest most optimistic guy in the room! Neil saw Steve closing day at Nakiska in 2018. It was a beautiful, sunny warm day, and Steve noticed him on the deck and stopped by to chat. Even though golf season was on the horizon, and he was looking forward to that, he insisted on getting together to ski the following year! Steve was a wonderful guy and truly a mensch, and we will all miss him. We are truly sorry for your loss. Robbie Babins-Wagner & Neil Wagner

I am deeply sadden by the passing of Steve and incredibly grateful to have known him. He was my pediatric dentist growing up and my inspiration later in life. He is the reason I became a pediatric dentist. He wrote my reference letter for dental school, I still pull it out read it sometimes. Steve was an easy man to admire—who wouldn’t want to be just like him? I’m so sorry for your loss.

To the whole Baylin family, My sincerest condolences for your loss. Dr. Steve was a wonderful person, and truly a joy to all his patients. I remember him coming up to see me in the hygienist's chair, always with a big smile and a joke, and making sure I was distracted from anything uncomfortable by showing off his train on the ceiling. Once I asked him what the tooth fairy's name was, and he said "why, her name is Vicky, of course!" I was so fascinated that he knew such a magical creature. He had a wonderful way with kids, and tried to make everyone around him happy. He was a role model for anyone who wants to work with children. Thinking of you in this difficult time.

Very sad to hear of my cousin Steven’s passing and my heart goes out to his family. Steven, as a child, happily participated in many adventures in the NDG neighbourhood of Montreal. Every time we got together, he fondly reminisced about the day that we got lost on our pussy willow picking expedition. I remember Steven being a ski instructor, a dentist for children, a nature photographer. But mostly, I am so happy that Steven met Debbie and had Melissa Rose, and a wonderful appreciation of his life in the Rocky Mountains.
