To Joyce and Family Our sincerest condolences on Ronnie's passing. In addition to family gatherings I would go every year to see Ronnie for changing my tires and for other car repairs. He always welcomed me with a smile and as if we were the closest friends. His knowledge of anything cars was amazing and with very simple explanations. He was a good guy and a down to earth guy. My son Adam who loved cars always got excited when we were going to Ronnie. May his memory be a blessing for you all.

Ian & Linda Samuels - 4 days ago
It is particularly difficult to say goodby to lifelong characters in your life & Ronnie was certainly one of those in mine. I met Ron when we were about 14 years old which is about 63 years ago & spent the next 14 years or so eating smoke meat sandwiches with speck at Martha & Lou's house, spending Sundays doing repairs underneath various cars at Jerry's father's Shell station on Laurentian, not to mention sleeping under an MGA at a music festival because it was raining (we were always very prepared), running to Jacques Couture's scrap yard to buy parts, spray painting my '56 pink Buick green, spending hours upon hours at Houde park playing touch football or at the skating rink playing hockey, stalking girls & getting caught by police & arrested, camping with Joycee & Linda & much more which I am too old to remember. Then he met the love of his life as I did, we attended each other's weddings spent the next couple of years seeing each other sporadically & kind of went on with our lives separately. We lived in Toronto for many years & when I did travel back to Montreal I would stop at Ron's garage for a chat & an oil change. We tried for a hookup in T.O. but it didn't happen. It is only recently, when I moved back to Montreal, that I managed to track Ronnie & Joycee down. We got together on a few occasions & it was like we had not been separate for 50 years. In the many hours that we spent together we were only able to go through perhaps 1/3 of our reminicenses & covid destroyed the ability to finish the other 2/3's. Well maybe in another life. Joycee, as you are, I am heartbroken. May he RIP.

It will be hard to watch the zoom funeral tomorrow and say our farewell to a special friend of over 50 years. Ron and Tony first bonded over their love of cars but it wasn’t long before he introduced us to the love of his life, Joyce and we fell in love with them both .Ron had an such an affable personality and we enjoyed many a Saturday night in his & Joyce’s St. Laurent apartment and later in Dollard. We shared many special occasions the least of which was Ron standing as Tony’s best man at our wedding.Ron was a proud father and grandfather and you knew it by the smile on his face when he talked about Michelle and Leslie and the grandchildren. May you find comfort and strength in your precious memories and of all those being shared with you now. May you know no more sorrow. Love Sharyn & Tony Needemyer

Dear Joyce and family. I was very disturbed by reading of Ron's passing. Ron, I (and Joyce) go back to our university years where we all were part of a close knit group. I remember Ron as a "mench" and as well, a fun person, ---always in a good mood an laughing. Cars were definitely "his thing"--and, it became an integral part of his career. The last time that I saw him, was approximately 10 years ago, and in speaking with him, I realized that he had not changed.,--a "cool guy" I hope that your terrific memories of him and all of you together, help console you through this difficult time. May your family be spared any further sorrow. Sincerely, Carol and Jason Balinsky

Dear Joyce, Michelle, Leslie and Family, At times like this it’s sometimes hard to find the right words to say. Lee and I are so sorry and saddened by the news of Ronny’s sudden passing, know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family. We may not of seen each other the past few years but the memories of our friendships, the good times that we had, are everlasting. Ron and I go back some sixty years, from coaching hockey to Ron working on my cars, when I was racing, at the garage on Sanguinet St. Yes we had some good times, even when he tried to drown me in his car going down to the golf course on Nun’s Island during a rain storm and having to go through a flooded section of the road only to tell me to raise my feet because some water was going to leaked into the car, leaked wasn’t the word, I was swimming! I couldn’t of even been mad at him, we were laughing so much. Memories and friendships not to be forgotten! Please accept our most heartfelt sympathies for your loss. Lee and Steve Shulman
