Donald Deckelbaum

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Donald Norton Deckelbaum on June 10, 2025, surrounded by his family, in his eighty-ninth year. Loving father and father-in-law of Melanie and Adam, and David and Marichel. Proud Zaydie of Chloe, Noah, and Stella. Dear brother of Barbara (Mervin), Gail (the late Steve), and the late Robert (Denise). Fondly remembered by Lily. He will be remembered with love and admiration by all who were fortunate enough to know him. Donny, as he was affectionately known, spent many years working in the needle trade before co-founding Café au Lait Fashions with his former wife, Lillian Deckelbaum. Together, they built a thriving business for over 25 years. He took great pride in his work, but it was clear to all who knew him that his true passion and joy came from being with his family. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Lakeshore for their compassion and exceptional care. A private funeral service will be held. Shiva will be held at David’s home from Thursday evening to Monday evening. Donny’s warmth, humour, and devotion to his family will remain forever in our hearts.
