Holocaust Survivor
Peacefully on Sunday, May 18, 2025. Cherished and devoted husband of Leona Obrand and the late Selda Jasnoch. Loving father and father-in-law of Judy and David Engel, the late Brenda and Morrey Weitz, Heather Kape, Robert Kape and Isabelle Fhima. Proud Zaidie of Tina and Adam Erlich, Paul Engel and Mandy Meirovich, and Daniel and Sarah Engel; Matthew Weitz, Morgan and Adam Shlecter; Benjamin and Maddy Tannenbaum. Great-grandfather of eight. Son of the late Bronia and the late Major Joseph Jasnoch. Brother-in-law of Ellen Pesner and the late Alan Pesner and Hersch Obrand. Nephew of Ignacz Blum, Chief of Staff of the Polish Army. Great-nephew of Leon Blum. Eddy will be lovingly remembered by his nieces, nephews, family and friends as well as by all who knew and loved him. Sincere thank you to Doctors Elise Levinoff, Haibin Yin, Laurent Duvernay Tardiff and Kamisha Valoo, as well as the 6th floor geriatrics and 4 main palliative staff for their care, kindness and devotion.
