Herbert Greenwald

Peacefully, with his family by his side, two days after his ninetieth birthday on Sunday, June 29, 2025. Beloved husband and best friend of Sheila (Fine) for sixty-eight years. Proud father and father-in-law of Susan and Neil, Ian and Shelley, Robert and Marnie. Adoring Grampy of Samantha, Matthew and Sarah, Corey and Kelsey, Tara and Daniel, Ashley, and Megan. Brother of the late Steven; brother-in-law of Doris and David Bard. Lifelong friend of Marvin Rusk and Morty Pearl. Herb will be missed by his family, friends, and all those who knew him. Special thanks to his caregivers, and to the doctors, nurses, and staff that have helped care for Herb through the last few years.

Herb graduated from McGill dental school in 1960. An admired and respected dentist, Herb spent fifty years practicing and teaching his profession. Outside of work, Herb was devoted to his family and was happiest when spending time with his children and grandchildren. As he always said: “you never know when you make a memory”. Herb, Dad, Grampy - we have millions of marvellous memories - thank you.

Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Monday, June 30 at 2:00 p.m. Burial at the Adath Israel Poale Zedek Anshei Ozeroff cemetery, de la Savane. Shiva at his home Monday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Evening services at 7:30 p.m. daily.
