Laurence Korman (née Blevinal)

It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Laurence Korman (née Blevinal) surrounded by her family on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, on her 87th birthday.  Beloved wife of  Gerszon George. Devoted mother  and mother in law of  Debbie, and Michel and Suzi, and the late Miriam z’l.  Cherished grandmother of Daniel and Jasmine, Nathan Tiger, Melanie, Jeremy, Avi and Joshua.  Proud great-grandmother of Lily.  Dear sister of Madelaine, Lucie, Renée, Jacqueline and Leon, Josephine z’l, Sam z’l, Anna z’l; sister-in-law of Aron and Annie Korman, Rita and the late Alex Korman z’l, Mindel z’l, Avrum z’l and Sara z’l, Meyer Eichler z'l and David Davidovit z'l. Laura will be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews and dear friends. The family would like to thank the incredible staff at Maimonides Geriatrics Hospital for tirelessly looking after her for almost 7 years. A special thank you to Tamara for her efforts in caring for Laura, so passionately over the past 7 years.

Funeral from Paperman and Sons, 3888 Jean-Talon West, on Thursday, July 31 at 11:00 a.m.  Burial at Tifereth Beth David Jerusalem Congregation Cemetery, Beth David Section, de la Savane.  Shiva will be held at her son Michel’s home. Shacharit services at 7:00 a.m., and Mincha Maariv at 8:00 p.m. Open Shiva from Thursday following burial through to Wednesday, August 6th. Please note due to Tisha b'av on Sunday, August 3rd Shiva will be from 3 :00 p.m. onward with with Maariv services at 8:40 p.m. at the home.
