It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Leonard Jacob Cohen (Lenny) on Friday July 17th in his 85th year. Son of the late Anne and the late Joseph Cohen and son-in-law of the late Bernard and the late Helen Miller. Beloved husband of Barbara (Barbie) for 59 years– he was her world. Dedicated and indispensable father and father-in-law of Janis & Jeff and Steve & Robyn. Fiercely proud Zaida of Zachary, Alexandra and Charlie; Max and Drew. Cherished brother and brother-in-law of Howard & Vivian Cohen and Marcia & Gary Kirshner, brother-in-law of Marilyn, Robert & Bonnie. Sadly missed by his nieces and nephews. Respected and esteemed Math teacher of countless students throughout his career at Chomedy High School.
Funeral will be held at Paperman & Sons on Monday, July 20th at 11:00 am Shiva will be held at his home following the burial until 4pm and from 7 pm to 9 pm. Shiva will continue Tuesday until Thursday from 2 pm to 4pm and from 7 pm to 9 pm and Friday from 1 pm to 3 pm. Donations can be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
He was many things to many people who will always miss him.
