Shiva will be observed from Wednesday to Friday at his home in Montreal, located at 508-2445 Chemin Sunset, TMR, QC, H3R 2Y9, and then on Sunday and Monday at his home the Gann Aiden Sculptor Garden, Montée D’Alstonvale, Hudson, QC.
Shiva hours: Wednesday following burial until 6:30 p.m., Thursday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., Friday morning until 11:00 a.m., Sunday and Monday in Hudson, QC from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Marcel passed away the way he lived, quietly, with purpose and dignity on Monday, January 5, 2025, in his ninety-first year. Precious husband and best friend of Elaine Steinberg for over thirty years. Attentive father of Lara Braitstein and the late Paula Briatstein; and special stepfather of Doug Raphael (Dr. Amy Ornstein) and Bracha Bettoun (Dr. David Bettoun). Special grandfather of Zusha (Chanie), Malka (Dr. Josh), Menachem Mendel (Tova), Rebecca, Yoseeph Yitzchak, Simcha, Abigail, Gabriel Cecil, and Moishe Reuven. Great-grandfather of Itai, Esther Leah, Liam, and Ezra. Marcel will be fondly remembered by his cousins in Europe and his Canadian nieces and nephews Shenkier and Squire.
Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Wednesday, January 7, at 2:00 p.m. Burial at the Montreal Torah Center Section, Kehal Israel Cemetery, D.D.O.
