Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.  Devoted wife of the late Bernard Rubenstein. Daughter of the late Helen and the late David Eisenberg. Proud mother of Howard and Debbie Lis, and Andrea and Howard Petroff. Adored grandmother of Matthew and Justine Petroff, Jeffrey and Emily Petroff, Gillian and Alex Stern, Jordan Lis, and Adam Lis. Newly minted great-grandmother of Coby Petroff.

Cherished older sister of Sharon Eisenberg and dear sister of the late Herbie Eisenberg; and sister-in-law of Goldie Eisenberg, and the late Herbert and the late Trudy Friedman. Special Auntie Pearl to her niece Alana Shuster and the late Ian Shuster.

Pearl had a special bond as stepmother of Elizabeth Joffe, Robbie Rubenstein, Michael Rubenstein and Claudia McKenzie, and Philip Rubenstein. Caring grandmother of Carla Joffe and Michael Armstrong, Michael Joffe and Adele Charlebois, Erik Joffe and Gillian Topp, and Stevie Joffe and Jessie Garon. Great-grandmother of Henry and Sasha Armstrong, Oscar Charlebois-Joffe, Morris Charlebois, and Max and Jordan Joffe.    

Heartfelt thanks for many years of outstanding care by Dr. Alireza Zahirieh and Jeanette of the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Kidney Care Clinic, and the nephrology team at the Montreal Jewish General Hospital. A special thank you to our mother’s kind, compassionate and loving team of caregivers Cynthia, Mitzi and Bon.  

Pearl will be fondly remembered as a determined, independent, intelligent, creative and caring woman.  We will all miss her grace and elegance. 

Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Sunday, February 8 at 11:00 a.m. Burial at the Russian Polish Hebrew Cemetery, de la Savane.
