After a courageous battle on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at the MUHC Hospital, Glen Site, in Montreal. Daughter of the late Louis and the late Freda Golfman. Beloved wife of fifty-eight years of Robert Shapiro. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Alison and Jeffrey Miller, Matthew Shapiro and Ariel Kiley. Devoted grandmother of Sydney, Finn, and Charlie Miller. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Robert Golfman and Bernadette Rusgal, Elizabeth and the late Richard Anobile; and sister-in-law of Harvey and Susanne Shapiro, and Michael and Rosemary Shapiro. Auntie Rhona will also be deeply missed by her many nieces and nephews.
Rhona was a creative and feisty soul, had impeccable taste and great style, and brought her trademark verve and flair to whatever she took on. At various points in her life, she was a visual artist, an art educator, and a real estate agent. She will be sorely missed by all those that knew and loved her. Special thanks to Dr. Lucy Gilbert and her entire gynecology-oncology team, especially Dr. Xing Zeng. The family would also like to express heartfelt gratitude to the Doctors, Nurses, and Staff of the C8 ward at the MUHC for their gracious, kind, and compassionate care.
