Sandra Silverstone-Turkel was born in Montreal Canada October 19, 1940 to Samuel Wittenberg and Libby (Steinbach) Wittenberg. Eldest of three siblings, her dear younger sister Carol Henle left us Feb 27, 2023. She is survived by her youngest brother Howard and wife Hassie. Her son Jeff Silverstone, his wife Annette and their daughter, Libby. Her son Daniel Silverstone, and husband Jesse Silverstone. Her son Doug Silverstone and his husband Mark Gamez. Sandra Graduated McGill university in Montreal in 1961 with a Bachelor of Arts in liberal arts. She was Married to Herschel Silverstone in 1961.She lovingly raised three sons with influence of her family, their cousins and grandparents, Jeffrey Steven Silverstone , Daniel Henry Silverstone and Douglas Ronald Silverstone. She was active in and president of sisterhood at Temple Beth Shalom. She loved to sketch, mostly in Charcoal, and enjoyed taking continuing education college classes. She moved to California in 1977, became active , creating a new community of close friends at and around Temple Shalom, again active in the sisterhood including serving as president. In the mid 1980’s she began working in the real estate industry. With great success she continued that work for more than 35 years. Sandra was remarried to William Turkel in 1992, they remained active in temple and Havurah events. She took pride in her sons and in her granddaughter Libby Silverstone. She lived a righteous life and was dearly loved and respected by her family and by many in her community. She will be dearly missed. May her memory remain a blessing.
