Teddy Baker

On Thursday, January 8, 2026, in his ninety-eighth year. Devoted husband of Ritza (née Cleiman) for sixty-seven years. Loving father and father-in-law of Barbara and Bruce Finney, Morrie and Lisa (Korman) Baker, Ari and Cindy (Lebovics) Baker. Proud grandfather of Sam Finney; Zack Baker, Matthew Baker; Charlotte Baker, and Juliana Baker. Dear brother and brother-in-law of the late Lillian and the late Norman Bultz; the late Jack and Karen Cleiman, Weldon and the late Phyllis Cleiman, the late Rochelle and the late Joseph Levitt. Son of the late Morris and the late Clara (Shiff) Baker. Son-in-law of the late Samuel and the late Sarah Cleiman. Teddy will be missed by his many nieces and nephews, by his family, friends, and by all those who knew him.

Teddy was deeply committed to Jewish communal life, dedicating his energy and leadership to strengthening the institutions he cared about most. His community service included serving as Grand Chancellor of the Knights of Pythias, Co-Chairman of the State of Israel Bonds, and President of the Côte Saint-Luc Seniors Organization. Professionally, he made a lasting impact as National Field Director of the United Jewish/Israel Appeal, Director of the Canadian Jewish Congress (Quebec), and Executive Director of the Beth El Congregation, roles through which he led with integrity, dedication, and purpose.
