Peacefully in her ninety-fourth year, on Friday February 6, 2026. Devoted wife of the late Harvey Cohen. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Audrey Cohen and Andre Elkaim, Sheila, Marla, Michal, and the late Brenda. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Scott and Tara, Jason and Lindsay, Zach and Jen, Justin and Chloe. Proud great-grandmother to her 6 beautiful great-grandchildren. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Bert and Ginger, Zelda and the late Sidney, the late Howard and the late Pat.
Trita was truly an inspiration to everyone she met. Her strength, compassion and joie de vivre were felt by all those who knew her and her warm vibrant smile always lit up the room. Trita was an accomplished artist who loved to share her knowledge and many artistic talents. When asked what she thought had been her best artwork, her answer was always that her greatest creation had been her family.
Thank you to Dr. Goldman, Dr. Ng Cheong and the entire nephrology team at St. Mary’s Hospital, to Dr. Golda Tradounsky, Dr. Arcuri and to the whole palliative care team at Mount Sinai Hospital for their incredible dedication and wonderful care.
