My condolences on your loss. I was one of Phil's many Y friends. He was a fixture there. His absence in recent years was palpable. His dedication to exercise even in old age was inspiring.

I was very saddened to learn of Phil's passing. Phil was a very special person. He was a fixture at the "Y" gym and locker room...his second home. His positive and enthusiastic outlook on life and his warm and approachable mannerism made him very popular with all...young, old, male, female. Phil's presence would illuminate the room. With his magnetic personality and booming voice, he was never short of words......the right words. He made those around him feel good...feel welcome. We will miss him, however, the "light" that he brought to the room will be everlasting in our memories. My sincere condolences to his family. Phil...Boomer...May you rest in peace. Nick Pfefer

I am so saddened by the news. Phil, an avid tennis player was the nicest man on the courts. He often played with my dad back in the days when the Y had tennis courts and then in CSL. I also had the pleasure of serving him when I worked at Scotiabank. A true gentleman he was. May he rest in peace

As a former member of the Snowdon YMHA I have fond memories of Phil. He was a friendly wonderful person who made you feel very welcome at the Y. Whether it was on the tennis court, in the gym or pool, Phil was very active. He will be missed. My sincere condolences Ian Levitt.
