We are sad to announce the peaceful passing of Barbara Bertha Fineberg Berger in her 94th year on Monday, November 2, 2026.

She had a long, eventful, happy, productive marriage of 71 years to her handsome Harold (deceased).

She will be missed by her loving daughter, Lesley Barbara Rusinek, (husband, Allan deceased).

She was forever devoted, dedicated and adoring Nannie of Jeremy Rusinek (wife, Jenna Jangalee), Brandon Rusinek (wife, Valerie Gibson) and Brittany Berger (husband, Aron Berger).

She was always bragging and forever loving Gigi of Juniper Jangalee Rusinek, Brody Jacob Rusinek, Weston Allan Rusinek, Marigold Miriam Berger, and Elias Bear Berger.

Survived by loving reliable sister Sunnie Fineberg Manusov, and brother Manny Fineberg (wife, Brenda Fineberg). Also many cousins, in Montreal, Toronto, New York and Florida.

Having spent many hectic but fulfilling successful years in the business world, upon retirement she became a dedicated valuable volunteer at the Montreal General Hospital for 25 years. Needing to spend her time productively, she took gourmet cooking lessons, attended gym classes at the Y and learned to play bridge.

A big plus in retirement was organizing and involving herself in forming different women’s groups while spending the cold winter months in sunny Delray Beach, Florida.

The highlight of these southern winters was having her grandchildren visit during the winter holidays. There were delightful memorable days down south with Nannie and Grampa.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cedars Cancer Center at the Royal Victoria Hospital with our utmost gratitude and recognition to Dr. Claude Cyr, in patient support palliative care, and a very special caring nurse at CLSC Cote des Neiges - Vallerie Cousseau.

The most outstanding companion, our loving housekeeper, Georgia Divolis. Also our appreciation to her caregivers Oanh Diel and Chaun.

Chapel Funeral Service at Paperman & Sons. Jean Talon St. W. November 5, 2026 at 11:00AM.

Burial following service at Eternal Gardens Cemetary, Shaare Zion Section, Elm Ave., Beaconsfield. A reception will follow. (Location to be announced at the ceremony.)

Barbara greatly appreciated her quality of life, which she accomplished through her own efforts.
