Arthur’s family are heartbroken to announce his passing after a short, but hard-fought battle with cancer at age eighty-three.

He is survived by his loving and committed wife, his partner of fifty-seven years, Sheila Saxe. Theirs was a love story worthy of a Taylor Swift or a Barbara Streisand song which started when they were counselors at Camp Pine Valley - but Sheila had a boyfriend (and then another). Arthur was persistent over the next year and ultimately won over the former McDonald College Royal Queen and they set off to build a beautiful life together in Montreal. Arthur is also survived by his two adoring daughters and sons-in-law Marla Greenspoon and Russell Grant, and Julie Greenspoon  and Fraser Clark. Marla and Julie were shaped by Arthur's hard work ethic, generosity, and love for his family. Arthur was a proud and involved Zaida to Eli and Fallyn, Aether, Colin, and Levi. He is pre-deceased by his father Eli and mother, Mathilda (Bezumny). He was the youngest of three with Lois (Wells) also deceased, leaving his older brother and sister-in-law Herbert and Harriet.

Arthur was also a dear brother-in-law to Brian Saxe and Marilyn Saxe. Cherished uncle to Elisa, Mishele and Jonathan Wells, Karen, Michael and Susan Greenspoon, and Michael and Jason Saxe.  He will be deeply missed by all extended nieces and nephews, friends who became like family and all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Arthur came from humble beginnings. He had a big personality, regularly captivating rooms and dinner tables with stories that made everyone laugh (or blush). Arthur had confidence and smarts and with Sheila, together, they hit it out of the ballpark. They traveled the world with friends, sometimes with skis or golf clubs in tow, enjoying culture and food along the way. His generosity and extensive philanthropy was seen and felt throughout the Jewish Community and beyond. His active lifestyle and joie de vivre was contagious, particularly on the ski hill at Tremblant and on his golf cart in Boca Raton.

Arthur's professional accomplishments were many as one of the first endodontists in the Montreal area in 1972. He graduated from the University of Montreal dental school and Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry in Endodontics. His passion for the profession led him to take on a number of leadership roles: President of Alpha Omega Montreal, Chairman of Israel Bonds- Dental Division, President of Boston University Endo Alumni, and as Member of the Canadian Endodontic Society. He only just hung up the tools fifty-three years later in 2025.

The Greenspoons would like to thank Arthur's dedicated medical team, demonstrating outstanding care in Montreal: Dr. Elie Kassouf and Dr. Jean Zigby, with special thanks to Dr. Richard Margolese. Particularly meaningful in the last few days were the formidable nurses and staff in the palliative care team at the Jewish General Hospital.
