Elaine Budning (née Ritz)

Peacefully on April 8, 2026, in her 94th year with her family by her side.

Daughter of the late Benjamin and the late Lilly Ritz.  Beloved wife of the late Charles.  Loving mother and mother-in-law of Bryan and Cheryl, Jeff and Jackie, Andy and Doreen, and Carole-Anne and Stuart. Adored Nana of Gordon and Kayla, Lily and Jeremy, Erin and Assaf, Warren, Kevin, Jonathan and Melissa, Sean, Robert, Zachary, Joel and Craig.  Proud great-grandmother of Noa, Andie, Romi and Myles. Sister and sister-in-law of Morton Ritz and the late Marilyn, and the late Muriel and the late Irving Garber.

Elaine was a perfectionist in the truest sense—an accomplished writer, poet, and artist whose creativity shaped every part of her life. Fiercely protective and deeply devoted to her family, she instilled in her children a commitment to education, discipline, and hard work. Her love for her Shull and for religious traditions grew over the last 25 years, during which she dedicated countless hours to charitable projects and community service. Elaine’s generosity, devotion, and artistic spirit touched all who knew her, leaving a legacy of compassion, strength, and unwavering faith.
