Fred Povitz

One month shy of his ninety-eighth birthday, on Saturday, August 16, 2025. Beloved husband of the late Shirley Dunn. Devoted father and father-in-law of Earl and Elaine Povitz, Cary Povitz and Joy Biskin. Loving grandfather of Shaun and Kurt Sarno, Richard Povitz, Lauren Povitz and Robbie Praw, Lana Povitz and Dima Ayoub, and James Povitz and Olivia Cohen. Proud great-grandfather of Noah and Adam Sarno, and Hayden, Rowan, and Lennon Freddie Praw. Dear brother and brother-in-law of the late David and the late Dorothy Povitz, and brother-in-law of the late David and the late Hazel Dunn. He will be missed by his nieces, nephew, friends, and extended family. Fred was kind, humble, and hardworking – a mensch. He was our rock. Burial at the Montefiore Protective Association Cemetery, de la Savane.
