Frank Gontovnick

(August 16, 1928 – June 30, 2025)

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Frank Gontovnick at age 96. He was the very devoted son of the late Annie and Benny Gontovnick. Beloved husband of Rose Myers for 72 wonderful years. Brother of the late Libby Daniel (Harry), Ethel Burgida (Mike) and Ruthie Gontovnick. He was especially proud of his three sons and their spouses; Larry (Barbara Roper); Alan (Andrea Pronman) and Eric (Deborah Seligson). Much loved Zaidie of Jeff (Camille Quinton), David (Sinead O’Brien), Kevin, Matthew (Samantha Green), Marnie (Ryan Kardish), Brandon and Jasi Gontovnick. Great-grandfather of Geordi and Arlo Gontovnick and all their nieces and nephews that they loved so dearly.

Frank was a very kind and humble man. He often said he was very fortunate in life. He worked very hard to support his family and he was always there to help his siblings and extended family. He volunteered generously at the synagogue, having run the bazaar for many years; coached baseball and headed the Little League in Chomedey, Laval. He was an avid sportsman playing slo-pitch, hockey, tennis, bowling and golf. He was a keen fan of Montreal sporting teams, especially the Habs. He will be greatly missed by his entire family and friends.

Graveside service to take place on Sunday, July 6 at 11:00 a.m. at Young Israel of Chomedey Congregation Section, Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Duvernay, Laval.
