William Berman

It is with profound sadness that the family of William Berman announces his passing on Monday, May 18, 2026, at the age of 74, following a prolonged struggle with early-onset Parkinson’s disease. He was the loving husband of Susan Alt for 52 years. Father and father-in-law of Isaac, and Shimon and Devora. Proud and loving Zaida of Maya, Mickey, Eytan, and Emma Berman. Cherished brother and brother-in-law of Sheba and Jerry Meland, and Minnie Berman; brother-in-law of Isaac and Marcel Alt. Uncle of Benjamin Alt and Yael, and Josh Orzech, and their families. Many thanks to his devoted caregivers of many years, Peter Stanislas and Gershwin Orenman, with whom he developed a long and beautiful friendship. Much gratitude to the staff of 4 North at Maimonides.

Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Tuesday, May 19 at 3:00 p.m. Burial at the Chevra Mishnais Cemetery, de la Savane. Shiva at 6800 Av. Macdonald, Côte Saint-Luc, QC, H3X 3Z2 (level S1 reception room) following burial Tuesday and all day Wednesday.
