It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother in her 100th year.
Our mother lived a full and rewarding life. She is survived by her sons Gordon (Lang Fang), William (Maryse Bertrand), Jeffrey, and Paula Segal; her grandchildren Julianne (Christian Buchanan), Philippe, Jacob (Victoria Videira), and Harrison, Vincent-Hion (Mei-Ching) and Gabriel, Alec and Jonathan; her brother Larry, and many nieces, nephews, and their children. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Hyman, with whom she shared almost 50 years of a wonderful marriage and partnership; her parents, Margaret and Sam; her sister, Ethel; and her many friends.
Our mother was deeply devoted to her family and friends, an inspiration to us, and a loving and devoted Nanny to her grandchildren. She served proudly for over 35 years on the Royal Victoria Hospital Auxiliary, where she originated the heart pillow and incubator donation projects. She travelled the world with our late father Hyman, accompanied him in business and politics, and was very proud of all of our achievements. We were so fortunate to have a mother like her, and she will be deeply missed by all of us.
We would like to thank her caregivers, including Rebecca, Carolyn, and Jennifer, and the wonderful staff at Mount Sinai Hospital, who helped make her passing dignified.
