May 30, 1935 – August 20, 2025
It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Gerald "Jerry" Kreaden, on August 20, 2025, at the age of 90.
Born on May 30, 1935, Jerry lived a life defined by his love and dedication to family. In his youth, he was always ready for a good time. He loved skiing and playing basketball with his many friends. Jerry left a lasting impression on everyone he met. With a twinkle in his eye and a winning smile, he always made time to share a laugh and tell a good joke. He believed in enjoying life, whether through fun, friendship or a great meal, especially if dessert involved fruit. Though he lived in Montreal, his heart was always in California.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Sheila Lubin Kreaden; his daughter Lynn Kreaden; daughter Cheryl Besner and husband Jocelyn Deschenes; son Michael Kreaden and wife Usha Seshadri-Kreaden; son Mitchell Kreaden and wife Lesley; son Bryant Kreaden and wife Shannon Hamblin. He will also be remembered by his grandson Daniel Cohen and wife Sabina; granddaughters Meaghan Cohen, Annapurna and Siddartha Kreaden; and grandsons Ryan Cohen, Tyler and Graham Kreaden; as well as great-grandson Leo Cohen. Jerry is also survived by his two sisters, Beatrice Freder and Mona Kreaden and her husband Paul Lipton, his brother-in-law Sonny Lubin, and his two sisters-in-law Barbara Lubin Kitman and Harriet Lubin Wolfe. His son Andy Besner predeceased him.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Sherma Johnson for her care, kindness and devoted friendship. Jerry’s family, extended family, and his many dear friends will cherish his memory forever. He will be missed more than words can say.
