Joy’s family is heartbroken to announce her passing on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at the age of seventy-nine. Loving and devoted mother of Joey and Kelly Nixon, Brenda Nixon, David Nixon. Beloved wife of late Brian Nixon. Special daughter of the late Sam and the late Bertha Karper. Best Bubby of Samuel Nixon, Summer and Yulian Cazares, Shayne and Tyler Pugh, Osiris and Mavis Nixon. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Phyllis and the late Ian Karper, and the late Richard Karper, and sister-in-law of Janice and John Brookes, the late Brenda Nixon, and the late Jerry Nixon. Much loved aunt of Jodi Karper and Martin Fellner, Sari Karper and Jordie Sacks, Becky and Doug Stevens, Danny and Shirley Brookes, James and Meaghan Brookes, and the late Mitchell Karper. Amazing great aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Joy lived her life with strength, independence, and directness. Her greatest pride were her six grandchildren, she was the best Bubby ever! Throughout her life, Joy was surrounded with love from her many close friends and loving family.
Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W. on Wednesday, July 30 at 11:00 a.m. Burial at the Beth Tikvah Congregation Section, Kehal Israel Cemetery, D.D.O. Shiva at 1400 crois.
