Shimon Larby

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Shimon Larby, who left us on Thursday, June 5, 2025. Loving husband of Marinette for seventy-four years. Devoted father of Eti, Ilan, Charly, and Meir. Proud grandfather of David, Michael, Moran, Daniel, and Nathan Sokron; Rafael, Nathaniel, Yaftie Esther, Miriam Sarah, Elironne, Gabriella, Maëlie, Lily, and Charlotte Larby.; and great-grandfather of Mia and Millie Moore; Nathan and Noa Korobin. Dear brother of Haïm, Jojo, Rafi, Elie, Meir, and Ahouva Levy. Shimon will be missed by his nieces and nephews, by his family, loyal friends, and all those who knew him.

Born in Rabat, Morocco, and raised in Israel, Shimon later settled in Montreal, Canada, where he built a beautiful life for his family and community. A hardworking and determined man, he was the proud owner of a successful construction business and was known for his strong work ethic, integrity, and generosity.

Shimon touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His warmth, wisdom, and sense of humor will be remembered always. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and dedication that will continue to inspire all who knew him. 

Graveside service on Friday, June 6 at 12:00 noon at the Congregation Beit Abraham section, Kehal Israel Cemetery, D.D.O. Shiva at his home Friday following burial through Wednesday. Donations in Shimon’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
