Peacefully, on Sunday, September 27, 2026, in his 82nd year, surrounded by his family. Beloved husband and best friend of Catherine Stewart for 57 years. Loving and devoted father and father-in-law of Andrew Hiess, and Matthew Hiess and Heydi Blanco. Proud Grandpa of Lucy, Ryan, Melina, David, and Leyla. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Richarda (Ricky) Hiess, and Arthur Hiess and Judy Kucharsky. Joseph will be sadly missed by his niece, Maya Frati, as well as his extended family and friends. Special thanks to the Intensive Care Unit at the Jewish General Hospital for their care, compassion, and kindness.
