On Wednesday, April 15, 2026, Annie Cohen (née Cooperman) peacefully passed at her Florida home in her 86th year with her adoring husband Jerry, by her side. Annie was a devoted wife for 67 beautiful years. Treasured youngest daughter of the late Joseph and the late Sarah Cooperman. Adored mother and mother-in-law of Shelley and Grant Shechtman, and Michael Cohen, and Debbie Cohen and Michael Sacks. Cherished grandma of Mitchell Shechtman and Samantha Collins, Amanda and Brent Winston, Alex Sacks, and Taylor Sacks, and loving great-grandmother to Sloan Winston. Dear sister and sister-in-law of the late Lily Zaklos, the late Doris and Louis Meland, the late Esther and the late Julius Schneiderman, the late Bella and the late Myer Steinmetz, Yetta and the late Zolly Freeman, the late Abie and the late Mavis Cooperman; and Herschel and Francine Cohen. Fondly remembered as Auntie Annie by her many nieces and nephews and large extended family.
Annie was the heart of her home. A dedicated matriarch and a wonderful chef who cared for her family with unwavering love and devotion. Her welcoming home was always open to friends and family. Hosting her joyful celebrations and holiday meals was an expression of her love. She loved to travel the world with family and friends. She spent her years between Montreal and Florida, always happiest when surrounded by those she loved. Her warmth, generosity, and kind spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
Graveside service on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at 2:00 pm, at the Beth Zion Section, Eternal Gardens Cemetery, Beaconsfield. Shiva at her daughter’s home.
