Peacefully, at home, on Thursday, August 6, 2026, the day of his ninety-eighth birthday. He spent this day celebrating his birthday with family and friends. 

He was predeceased by his loving wife Bianca, and his parents. He leaves behind his son, Justin Manasc (Claire Chabot), his daughter Vivian Manasc (Bill Dushenski) grandkids Emily Manasc, Peter Dushenski (Mila Zenith), and Lawrence Dushenski (Sarah Levine), Phil Dandenault (Olivia Wylie) and Matt Dandenault (Myriam Urquiso), great grand children Niko and Ari Dushenski, Sofie and Charlotte Levine, Olivier, Charles and Thomas Dandenault. 

Born in Czernowitz, Romania on August 6, 1928, Bert and Bianca married in Bucharest in 1952 and immigrated to Canada with their two young children in 1962. He had a successful career as an engineer and was technical director at Zimmcor. He was a remarkably creative person and cultivated many hobbies and skills throughout his life, producing hundreds of original ceramics and other art pieces. He lived independently until the end and cherished his family and close friends.

Funeral service from Paperman and Sons, 3888 Jean-Talon St. W., on August 9th. Burial at Tifereth Beth David Jerusalem Congregation Cemetery, Beth David Section, de la Savane. Shiva at his home following burial until 8:00 p.m., Monday from 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Contributions in his memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
