Peacefully at the age of one hundred and four on Saturday June 8, 2024. Beloved mother of Murray (Louise) and Dora (Hertzel). Cherished Bubbie Bronia of Jonathan (Robyn), Tova (Mike), Shira, Eran (Jemma) and Robyn and great grandmother of Shi’ana, Keyhmar, Jacob and Mila. Dear aunt of Lova (Svetlana)  and great aunt of Roman (Yulia) and Mischa (Viktoria). Bronia will be remembered by the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren of her wartime sisters, Sonia Werb z”l and Anja Jesion z”l.

In 1947 she met her husband Leib Fischer z”l, got married and had her first child (Murray) in the refugee camp in Wetzlar, Germany. Arriving in Montreal in 1949 with very little, Bronia and Leib made a life for themselves and their two children. She lost her entire family in the Holocaust but found a remnant in her nephew Lova and late sister-in-law Frayde with whom she reunited in Moscow in 1972. Lova, Svetlana and their two sons eventually moved to New York and completed her family.

Graveside service on Monday June 10 at 2 p.m. at the Montreal Worker’s Circle #3 Cemetery,(D-13), first gate (B) de la Savane. Shiva following burial at 174 rue Stephanie, D.D.O. Monday only.  Due to the festival of Shavuot shiva ends Tuesday morning.
