HOLOCAUST SURVIVOR

After a brief illness, on Monday, June 29, 2026, at the age of ninety-seven. Loving and adoring wife of the late Carol for almost fifty years. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Doris and Art, Bernard, and Jeff and Esther. Proud grandmother of Sarah and Joshua, Lisa and Curtis; Michael, Aaron, Jonathan; Samuel, Adam, Joshua, and Rachel; and great-grandmother of Ellie. Dear sister and sister-in-law of the late Adolf and the late Molly Rechnitzer. Loving aunt of Stuart and Corinne Rechnitzer. Special thanks to Jerlyne, Nathalie, Wegahta, Milen, and Ruth, for their care and compassion.

A Holocaust survivor, Charlotte came to Canada and built a remarkable life defined by resilience, intellect, family, and community. She was among the first graduates in Chemistry from Sir George Williams University (now Concordia University), and from 1967 until her husband Carol’s passing in 2005, worked side by side with him in their business. Charlotte expressed her love through her wonderful cooking and baking, taking immense joy in watching others enjoy the food she prepared. Fluent in twelve languages, she had a lifelong passion for opera and classical music from around the world. A dedicated volunteer at the Cummings Centre, she was surrounded by a wide circle of cherished friends and made a lasting impact on countless lives. Charlotte will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
